O Forum Dança apresenta nos dias 18 e 19 de Dezembro de 2009, às 21h30, no Instituto Franco-Português de Lisboa, dois programas de SOLOS pelos alunos do Programa de Estudo, Pesquisa e Criação Coreográfica.

Loïc Touzé, professor de dança e coreógrafo francês, orientou os 17 alunos do PEPCC (de 11 nacionalidades diferentes), de forma faseada e em diferentes momentos do 1º ano de formação, num exercício de criação e interpretação de solos, que será agora apresentado ao público.

A primeira edição do Programa de Estudo, Pesquisa e Criação Coreográfica (PEPCC) teve início em Janeiro de 2008 e terminará em Dezembro de 2009. O PEPCC é um projecto pedagógico e um projecto artístico. É uma formação avançada e intensiva em dança contemporânea, que estabelece uma relação directa entre a formação, a criação artística e o espectáculo. Conta com um conjunto prestigiado e internacional de artistas e professores, como Deborah Hay, Emmanuelle Huynh, Francisco Camacho, Jeremy Nelson, João Fiadeiro, Julyen Hamilton, Lisa Nelson, Loïc Touzé, Margarida Bettencourt, Meg Stuart, Miguel Pereira, Miguel Seabra e Vera Mantero.

Claudia's manifesting and me watching. Vera Mantero's workshop

Claudia was smelling the air and thinking, at the same time caressing and liking her own body. She was recognizing her face with her hands, going through it's contours, feeling her face's shape and texture. She then got bored, yet this boredom allowed her to become very sensitive to what was actually going through her at that time. This lead to small outbursts of anger. And she went back to feeling the air and the floor with her aware skin, and the cat came out...She miaows like a cat, and suddenly is aprehensive, testing, unconfortable. She wants the others to shut up! The cat is angry.
The next moment is something else, cat? What cat? I wasn't here before...She indulges on the floor, laughing, like a baby, crazy and unpredictable, not giving a shit, being free...She finds herself surprisingly funny and she is so entertained!
Then it gets serious, the judgment comes, it's coming from her back, something good, something bad? She is suspicious and she has the power to...care for her foot and leg. She touches it lovingly until it is nothig more than matter and boredom arrives once more. She continues to look for ways of entertaining herself. That is wonderful, oh, but she is serious now and she senses the room and it's energies. Claudia allowing...a pleasure to watch.

Working with Vera Mantero at Re.al

2 by two we were showing our feelings, thoughts, sensations, memories...what was crossing our minds and bodies at that moment.
This was Teresa, in my way of seeing it...


There was Teresa, with her very characteristic T-shirt and trousers.
Her position was very tight, it was dificult to see her face. But I knew that something was happening.
She walks on, cannot breathe so well. Her legs are stuck, she can hardly move and she is so near me...Bites her knee. So strong, so beautiful this image.
Angry, concentrated, focused.
Gets free now. Starts to feel happy, breathing more easily. Her body starts to get free of this stress. It is more fluid and it´s becoming different. She is playing with me with her ass. She is enjoying. I´m also enjoying.
Playing with her hair becoming a litlle girl. Now, a woman, showing how the movement of her head is so sexy. Tries to sing. Her song is transforming into a weird melody and her body falls and drags on the floor, while her wrists are beating on the floor.
Immediatly all changes. Hapiness and entusiasm!
Becoming tired. Her legs don´t respond again, don´t move, don´t have enough strenght. Starts shaking, dancing...actually, it's more about moving the head and making sounds.
Dances like in a disco.
Dances like in a gym, doing step classes.
Thank you. I am finishing the dance.
Tries to smile.
Shows her teeth.
Transforms herself into a fish. Fishgirl.
Explores her face.
Finds one expression. Kind of sad. Hides her face. Again.
But now with her arms, while spinning very very slowly.

Finally we make a blog! Hope you all contribute to it soon, hope you are all good and recovered from the journey of Montemor! It was a great ride, living in community with its ups and downs, but a very enriching experience...

Best Performance of 2008

After one week on Fórum Dança and three weeks on Espaço do Tempo of work with Miguel Pereira, we decided to make an informal presentation to share some experiences with a few observers.
On Friday morning, we established a kind of a score to direct us on the presentation, at that afternoon.

Here is the register of the BEST PERFORMANCE OF 2008!

SCORE:

1.We were all in our sitting room, waiting for the public, on a very informal way.
We received them as we always do when people arrive to "our home".

2. When Hajime putted the music on his computer we started to behave as another person ( one that we had choosen from the group and that is very different from ourselves)

3.Ali proposed a toast (now we became to be again ourselves)

4. After the toast we began the Directing Game. Each of us direct one person and was being directed from other person, at the same time ( for instance I was being manipulated by Teresa and I was manipulating Kandiê)

5.We became like Natália. Going to her state, kind of contemplative, quiet and nostagic.

6.Mariana made an announcement and after this we started to act/behave as we were Mariana.

7. Go on Exagerating the Mariana´s behaviour.

8. Go on exagerating Mariana´s behaviour but fast foward.

9. Ali proposed a toast again. Now we had to repeat the most similar possible what we had done on the first toast.

10. Start to move on slow motion ( picking our stuffs to go out).

11. FREEZE on a place ( througt the living room, corridor..in direction to the dance studio)

12. Moment to the public go to the studio and passing throught us, like statues.

( now i`ve got the time to change clothes- one to one when the public are sitting on the studio to see us)

13. Take the shoes in the entrance of the studio in slow motion and at the moment that we enter the studio we dance on a very geometrical form, until we arrive at the other corner of the room and sit.

14. Miguel putted the plant in the middle of the room, closed all the doors and windows to put the space without light. One moment in the dark and turn on the lights.

15. Francisca got up, picked the microphone and read a text into the space.


And that´s it!
